Compassionate Action Brotherhood
"Love in Action"
Many times in life we neglect to see the part that we play
in the miracles that God performs. We don't recognize that
God wants us to do his bidding. It is not that God needs us
to accomplish his mission to the world, but he recognizes that
we need to be part of his kingdom's work to be the men, women
and children that he intends us to be. By taking part in the
work of God's kingdom we help others to see who Jesus is while
helping to see him ourselves.
Becoming an active participant in the mission outreach at
Three Bridges is a natural part of our call to "Love our
neighbor as ourselves". Highlighted below is a list of
on-going mission programs and their coordinators.
Information is always available about up-coming events
through the Lifeline (monthly newsletter) or the church
bulletin.
Mission Quilters - On the 2nd and 4th Tuesday (9:30-noon),
and the 2nd Saturday of the month (9:30-1:30),
a group of women (with or without
quilting skills) gather together to make quilts. The quilts
have been donated to people in West Virginia where our church
has donated time and labor. This year they are going to other
places of need. Whether one can sew or not, there
are a number of ways to contribute to the group, i.e. pressing,
cutting, visiting and chatting. All are welcome to help and
to learn. Quilting is a wonderful, relaxing hobby. If you
would like to learn from the best, this is your opportunity.
Please come out and enjoy time together with a service project
in mind.
Mission of the Month - Each month a different
organization is highlighted. Our communion offering helps
to support the program. We also highlight ways to help or
serve the programs. Past organizations that have been supported are: Words of Hope, Habitat for Humanity, Psalm 23 Camp, Reformed Church Home, Hope Force, The Lord's Closet, Missions to Niger and Honduras.
