THREE BRIDGES

An important part of the life of the church is the process of Calling new Elders and Deacons to serve on Consistory. But what does this level of service mean to us as a congregation in the Reformed Church in America?

Elders are to study God's Word, oversee the household of faith, encourage spiritual growth, maintain loving discipline, and provide for the proclamation of the gospel and the celebration of the sacraments.

Deacons have charge of all gifts contributed for the benefit of the poor and are to distribute them with discretion. As they are equipped, they also visit and comfort those in material need.

Consistory combines the ministerial functions and governmental powers of the offices of the minister, elder, and deacon in the service and supervision of a local church.

This year we have the opportunity to nominate and ultimately elect two individuals for the office of Elder and two people as Deacons to three year terms.

Each member of Consistory will serve on a particular Commission. However, Consistory is entering a phase of reexamining how we do business. As that reimagining emerges each area of ministerial need . will have a representative so as to facilitate necessary communication between various commissions and Consistory.

Nominations will close on October 3.

So think about the congregation and prayerfully nominate the individual whom you feel would help to best lead God's Church here at Three Bridges!

Once you have entered in the name(s) and made the office selection, please be sure to submit the form at the bottom of this page in order to send in your form correctly. If you happen to have more than 7 individuals you'd like to nominate, please first submit this form and enter in the additional nominees starting with the first box. Again, we are filling vacancies for 2 Elders and 2 Deacons. 
In addition, please give thought to nominees who would have gifts to serve as Elder or Deacon.
